Our Top 5 Thanksgiving Foods Ranked!

November is known as the month for giving thanks. That’s great and all, but November is also known for its superior food. We decided to rank our favorite Thanksgiving dishes that will be the stars of the show at our feast. This may be controversial. You have been warned.

5. Turkey

This may be the staple of Thanksgiving, but frankly it does not deserve the hype it gets. Turkey thinks it’s better than all other dishes, and with that attitude, it gets fifth.

4. Stuffing

I might have snuck this on the list because it’s a personal favorite, but have you ever seen leftover stuffing the next day? It may be the overlooked side, but I know everyone grabs a heaping spoonful of stuffing that takes up half the plate.

3. Pumpkin Pie

While Thanksgiving dinner may be the most exciting part of the day, dessert is just as anticipated. And I quote, “I am saving room for dessert.” I would rank pumpkin pie higher, but when Thanksgiving rolls around, we are exhausted of pumpkin spiced things. Thanks Starbucks!

2. Mashed Potatoes

We have now reached the best of the best for dinner dishes. Mashed potatoes can be made any way, and it still tastes delicious. Even bad mashed potatoes are good. You don’t find many food items that can pull that off. Mashed potatoes can be had year round and because of that, we cannot rank it first for Thanksgiving foods.

1.  Gravy

You cannot convince me any other Thanksgiving item deserves first place besides gravy. It’s so versatile. Put it on your turkey, mashed potatoes, pour it straight in your mouth; it makes everything taste better. And everyone agrees gravy tastes 100 times better when it comes from those cute little gravy boats your mother brings out twice a year. Gravy just works, it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without it. With that it takes the cake, or I guess the pie!

Career Tip of the Day

Find your work-life balance

For decades, all we did was live to work. Now, that doesn’t seem fair because there is so much more to life than work. We have to find time to squeeze in our favorite hobbies, learn new things, and pursue our goals. I know, finding your perfect balance can feel like walking a tightrope, but it doesn’t have to be.

Start by learning to say “No,” and setting clear boundaries with your coworkers for when you will be offline. It’s important to prioritize your health, which includes physical, mental, and emotional. Take the breaks you need, and you will find yourself with higher productivity and fewer burnouts. Take back control of your work-life balance, and do what you love while also achieving financial freedom. You deserve to treat yourself.
